🚀 COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

Computer Science and Engineering are among the most in-demand and future-ready academic fields globally. With technology shaping every aspect of modern life, from healthcare and finance to agriculture and robotics, graduates in this area enjoy some of the highest job opportunities and career flexibility worldwide.

At Bosomtwe STEM Girls School, students gain a strong foundation in Computing, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Robotics—core subjects that prepare them for real careers in the tech industry. Students may also select from Geography, Economics, and Biology, with the flexibility to drop any of the last four based on their interests and strengths.

👩‍💻 Real Projects, Real Skills

Our students don't just learn, they build.

  • The Media Page and Events & News sections of our school website were fully developed by the girls themselves, showcasing their web development and design skills.
  • They also created the voting application used for this year's school elections, an innovative, secure, and fully functional system built from scratch by the students.

These hands-on projects allow students to apply what they learn in class to real-world challenges, building both technical skills and confidence.

✅ Key Benefits for Your Daughter:

  • Global Job Opportunities in tech, engineering, AI, and digital industries
  • Strong Salary Potential and long-term career growth
  • Hands-On Experience through real coding, app building, and system design
  • Opportunities for Innovation in robotics, software development, and web design
  • Empowerment Through Technology, equipping girls to lead in male-dominated fields

Learning Areas in our Biomedical Science Program:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Elective Mathematics
  • Information Communication Technology(Elective)
  • *BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES
Biomedical Science main subjects we offer in Bosomtwe STEM Girls School are Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Elective Mathematics. This particular disciplines are having additional learning areas as stipulated by the new Curriculum.

    Brief Explanation

A field of study that focuses on the biology of human health and disease. It includes areas such as human physiology, pharmacology, and human nutrition. Biomedical research examines the effects of drugs and medical techniques on the biological systems of living creatures. Biomedical research will enable many individuals infected with the disease to live longer, more comfortable lives.

What does biomedical science involve? Studying human physiology, pathology, and pharmacology integrating disciplines like biochemistry, microbiology, and genetics Conducting wet-lab research to address problems associated with therapeutics and disease mechanisms developing knowledge, interventions, or technology that are of use in healthcare or public health.

    Why is biomedical science important?
Biomedical science helps solve significant health problems facing society It bridges basic science and clinical medicine It allows aspiring biomedical scientists to tailor their careers to fit their unique interests Related biomedical science disciplines: medical microbiology, clinical virology, clinical epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, and biomedical engineering.

Learning Areas in our Biomedical Science Program:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Elective Mathematics
  • *ENGINEERING

Engineering learning areas in Bosomtwe STEM Girls School are Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Elective Mathematics. This particular disciplines are having additional learning areas as stipulated by the new Curriculum. Unlike traditional engineering disciplines, engineering science/physics is not necessarily confined to a particular branch of science, engineering or physics. Instead, engineering science/physics is meant to provide a more thorough grounding in applied physics for a selected specialty such as optics, quantum physics, materials science, applied mechanics, electronics, nanotechnology, microfabrication, microelectronics, computing, photonics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, nuclear engineering, biophysics, control theory, aerodynamics, energy, solid-state physics, etc.

    Brief Explanation

It is the discipline devoted to creating and optimizing engineering solutions through enhanced understanding and integrated application of mathematical, scientific, statistical, and engineering principles. The discipline is also meant for cross-functionality and bridges the gap between theoretical science and practical engineering with emphasis in research and development, design, and analysis. In many universities, engineering science programs may be offered at the levels of B.Tech., B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. Usually, a core of basic and advanced courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology forms the foundation of the curriculum, while typical elective areas may include fluid dynamics, quantum physics, economics, plasma physics, relativity, solid mechanics, operations research, quantitative finance, information technology and engineering, dynamical systems, bioengineering, environmental engineering, computational engineering, engineering mathematics and statistics, solid-state devices, materials science, electromagnetism, nanoscience, nanotechnology, energy, and optics.

Learning Areas in our Biomedical Science Program:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Elective Mathematics
  • Engineering Science
  • *GENERAL SCIENCE
General Science learning areas in Bosomtwe STEM Girls School are Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Additional Mathematics. This particular disciplines are having additional learning areas as stipulated by the new Curriculum.

    Brief Explanation

General Science as a course also involves the study and application of technology (ICT in general).Depending on each school's capacity, various combinations of the elective subjects are made for students grouped into various classes. Future Study Path: A student who completes SHS having studied science can further his/her studies in varied areas including: Medicine (or the medical sciences), Natural and Physical sciences (eg. Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science, etc.) Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (eg. Mechanical, Computer, Chemical, etc.).

  • ✈️ AVIATION & AEROSPACE

    Brief Explanation

Aviation and Aerospace are foundational areas of STEM that spark curiosity, innovation, and exploration of the skies and beyond. While still growing at Bosomtwe STEM Girls School, this program introduces students to the scientific and mathematical principles behind aviation.

Students build a strong academic base through subjects such as Physics, Additional Mathematics, Computing, Chemistry, and Geography, Robotics.

Even without advanced equipment, students gain valuable exposure to the world of aviation through theoretical lessons, interactive projects, visual simulations, and STEM-focused discussions. Our goal is to lay the groundwork for students who may pursue further studies or careers in aerospace engineering, piloting, drone technology, or space sciences.

Students are encouraged to imagine, design, and think critically, skills that are vital in the aviation and aerospace industries. As resources grow, we plan to introduce practical tools such as basic flight simulators, drone kits, and industry mentorship opportunities.

    Inspiring the Future

This program is part of our commitment to expose young girls to high-impact STEM careers where women are still underrepresented. By starting with strong theory and imagination, we empower our students to take bold steps toward careers in one of the world's most exciting and impactful fields.

Through this foundational program, students begin their journey into aviation and aerospace—with the sky no longer the limit, but just the beginning.
